Review: Timberland Men’s Ledge Waterproof Hiking Boots

Timberland Men’s Ledge Waterproof Hiking Boots

Waterproof –

I don’t love winters and prefer to spend my days basking in the warm sun. And, since I work outdoors, there are days when I have to trudge through deep snow and icy streams. That’s why I invested in a good and reliable pair of shoes.

For me, these Timberland White Ledge Waterproof boots have been a lifesaver. And they’re comfortable enough that I can wear them all day without any issues. So, if you’re looking for a good pair of boots to help you get through the winter, I highly recommend these Timberland White Ledge Waterproof boots.

Tread and Traction

I’ve never had a slip or fall due to loss of traction with these Timberland Hiking boots. In fact, I have worn these shoes around town, hiking through streams and over rocks in the Colorado Rockies, tree climbing and lots of places. These boots are fantastic and will get you there.

However, the proprietary rubber in these shoes feels a little bit softer compared to the other hiking shoes but the rubberized Vibram outsoles work well.

In addition, the leather is top quality, as is the fit and finish of these hiking boot. I recommend these to anyone looking for a great all-around boot that will perform in any environment.

Weight

One of the worst things about hiking is lugging around a heavy pair of boots. But what’s the point of a boot if it can’t protect your foot? The White Ledge Hiking Boot strikes the perfect balance between weight and support. It’s made with a one-piece leather upper, which means there are no weak spots or vulnerable stitching.

And at 1.2lbs, it’s much lighter than your average hiking boot, but it still provides the support you need on long hikes. In short, it’s the Goldilocks of hiking boots: not too heavy, not too light, but just right.

Support

I’ll be honest; I don’t have anything to compare these Timberland Waterproof hiking boots to in terms of arch support. I don’t have sensitive feet or any issues with my feet, so I can’t say how these are in comparison to other shoes. But I can say they’re very comfortable and my feet don’t hurt after a long day of hiking in these shoes.

Comfort.

I have to say; I was pretty darn impressed with these hiking boots. I’ve been wearing boots for years, and I’ve gotten used to the weight and the bulkiness. But these boots are very light and comfortable. I laced them up, and my feet felt nice and snug inside.

I tightened the laces, and they still felt comfortable. However, none of these eyelets has a positive lock, so your ability to adjust the fit is limited. But overall, these boots are incredibly comfortable and lightweight.

Padded Tongue and Collar

The first thing I noticed was the pull tab on the collar’s back, which made it incredibly easy to slip the boot on and off. And the tongue uses a gusseted design to prevent debris from entering the boot, which is a massive plus in my book. Plus, the boot is surprisingly lightweight, so my walks won’t feel so arduous. All in all, I’d say that these boots are a marked improvement over their clunky predecessors.

Sizing and Toe Area

My feet are wide, and many brands don’t offer comprehensive width options. As a result, I often end up with shoes that are too tight, causing my feet to hurt after a few hours of wear.

Recently, I decided to buy a pair of these hiking boots. I was initially skeptical, but I’m happy to report that these Timberland White Ledge hiking boots are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. The extra room in the toe box is especially appreciated, and I didn’t have any issues with blisters or hotspots on my hike this past weekend.

If you’re like me and you’ve been struggling to find comfortable shoes, I highly recommend giving this brand a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Laces

There’s nothing worse than a shoe that won’t stay tied. It’s like a game of cat and mouse, except your shoe is the only thing chasing you. And trust me, you don’t want to be caught by your shoe. That’s why these Timberland Men’s White Ledge Mid boots are such a great option. The laces are long and work perfectly if you double knot them.

That way, you can rest assured that your shoes will stay tied all day. Plus, the metal eyelets are a great addition. They not only add a touch of style but also help keep the laces in place. As a result, you’ll never have to worry about your shoelaces coming undone again.

Things To Consider:

The Timberland White Ledge Boots are a fantastic choice for anyone in the market for a new pair of hiking boots. They’re comfortable, well-crafted, and stylish to boot. However, one downside to these otherwise perfect shoes is that the padding could be better.

If only Timberland had used memory foam inside the boots, they would be absolutely perfect.

When I first tried the Timberland White Ledge boot, I was struck by how deeply concave the heel counter was. This created a lot of contact between the interior surface of the boot and my Achilles heel. I thought this might be uncomfortable, but it used inserts to adjust the foot’s height within the boot. The result was a snug, comfortable fit that didn’t rub or chafe.

As it stands, they’re still an excellent choice for anyone in the market for a new pair of hiking boots. But if you’re looking for the absolute best, you might want to look elsewhere.
